Party Schedule

Morning Party

Afternoon Party

9:45 am to 10 am

1:15 pm to 1:30 pm

The Education Centre is open for the birthday party parents to set up their cake, presents, etc.

10 am to 10:30 am

1:30 pm to 2 pm

The party begins with the host(ess) leading fun party games!

10:30 am to 11:15 am

2 pm to 2:45 pm

The group prepares to go outside (bathroom break, coats, sunscreen, etc., as needed).

The group enters and exits the zoo via the front of Education Centre.

The host(ess) will provide a guided tour of the zoo, seeing as many animals as time allows.

As a reminder, if any guests arrive late during the zoo visit, an adult can wait for them in the party room, they wait in the party room thus miss the zoo tour, or they choose to pay admission at the Entrance building.

11:15 am to 11:30 am

2:45 pm to 3 pm

The group returns to the Education Centre and is shown 2-3 small friendly animals that the children can touch if they’d like.

11:30 am to 12 pm

3 pm to 3:30 pm

The children wash their hands and prepare for cake and presents.

The host(ess) provides animal/Goldfish crackers and juice for the children.

The birthday party parents oversee this time with the group.

The birthday party hostess is available in the next room if the birthday party parents need assistance.

12 pm

3:30 pm

The party is done!

The host(ess) returns to do all of the clean- up and to provide the birthday child with a birthday card and a pass to visit the zoo for free on another day.

  • The snack provided by the Zoo is one package of animal/Goldfish crackers and some juice for each child. We also provide the decorations, napkins, tablecloths, and games.
  • Parents are responsible for bringing the cake, plates, cutlery, cake knife, lighter, and candles.
  • You are also welcome to bring any other snacks or drinks but you must provide your own bowls, plates, and cups.
  • You are welcome to order pizza, however we ask that you bring the pizza with you instead of having it delivered because late deliveries often cause delays in the party schedule.

Misc details

  • Your birthday child will receive a birthday card and free “next visit” pass.
  • Please wear weather appropriate clothing/sunscreen for the outdoor zoo visit because the zoo tour is given rain or shine; no exceptions.
  • For the safety of our animals and CAZA (Canada's Accredited Zoos & Aquariums) regulations, balloons, silly string, and confetti are not permitted on Zoo property.
  • If any guests arrive while the group has gone into the zoo (10:30 am—11:15 am for morning parties or 2 pm—2:45 pm for afternoon parties), the party can choose to:
    • Designate an adult to remain in the party room to wait for the latecomers and guide them to join the rest of the group midway through the zoo tour.
    • Have the latecomers wait in the party room, thus missing the zoo tour, until the rest of the group returns. A sign will be placed on the party room door to provide guidance and the estimated time when the group will return. Adult supervision is required during this waiting time.
  • If neither option is suitable, latecomers can also pay their own regular admission at the Entrance building and enter the zoo on their own to find the group midway through the zoo tour.
  • All party guests and their belongings must be cleared from the party room within 15 minutes of the end of the party so the host(ess) can prepare for the next scheduled party.
